Why PHOTOGRAMS?
It all started when Morlet sadly noticed that households were lacking traditional materials related to film. Shelves of DVDs are being replaced by virtual files and short-lived streaming links, leaving no physical trace of one’s passion for the movies. One night, after sorting old film rolls left by his grandfather, Morlet had an inspiration: What if Cinema made a new entrance in homes to exist again as an artifact and becomes a fine art print?
About Claude Lelouch: Lelouch entered the Pantheon of Cinema at age 29 when he won the Palme D’Or at the 1966 Cannes Film Festival with A Man and a Woman, followed by two Oscars a year later. With a more straightforward approach to narrative than his peers of the Nouvelle Vague, Lelouch has consistently made his own way in filmmaking. « Life is an extraordinary screenplay » says the Director. A Man and a Woman is undoubtedly his masterpiece, one of the rare French movies that became a classic inspiring generations of filmmakers.
About Laurent Morlet: Former Cultural Attaché in charge of Cinema at the US Embassy and Television producer, Laurent Morlet recently produced Al Pacino on Stage in Paris, a live performance of the legendary actor. His grandfather was the renowned owner of a post-war movie theater in a small village, and had the distinction of being one of the first amateur filmmakers in France. His passion for cinema was passed on to his grandson who now lives and works in Los Angeles.
